Fool’s Theory Maps Letten — and The Witcher 4’s Shadow

At Gamescom, Fool’s Theory put Dandelion’s birthplace on the Continent: north, between Kovir and Kaedwen, on the Nimnar. That is also where the next game lives.

The map nerds finally got a sentence they could walk. Fool’s Theory world director Peter Gelencsér, speaking on a CD Projekt Gamescom stream, placed Letten — the setting of The Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past, and Dandelion’s birthplace — in the north, “somewhere half-way between Kovir and Kaedwen.” Eurogamer transcribed the rest: Gulf of Praxeda, Buina east, right on the Nimnar, southern shore.

That is not a pin you can tap in the 2015 atlas. It is close enough. Eurogamer’s reading puts Letten in northern Redania, nearer Gelibol than Novigrad, and not far from Blaviken. The useful fact for the next decade of this series is the neighbour: Kovir, the region already attached to The Witcher 4.

A pastoral map next to a sequel

Fool’s Theory vision director Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz described Letten as Polish countryside in spring, around Belleteyn — fields and estates, not another burned march. Songs of the Past is due in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC. CD Projekt has said Fool’s Theory is also loaning people to The Witcher 4. A region that sits on the sequel’s doorstep is not a coincidence you need a conspiracy to notice. It is geography.

Read Eurogamer for Gelencsér’s directions. Then wait for the expansion’s own map — not a Reddit overlay with a circle drawn in hope.
