Letten sits on the southern shore of the Nimnar, halfway between Kovir and Kaedwen. That is Dandelion’s birthplace, the new region in The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, and the piece of the Continent that now sits next door to Witcher 4’s Kovir. Fool’s Theory said so on a CD Projekt Gamescom stream. The map nerds asked where. This is where.

World director Peter Gelencsér gave the walk: Gulf of Praxeda, Buina river east, right onto the Nimnar, southern shore. “It’s in the north if you want the TLDR version.” Eurogamer transcribed it. On a detailed fan map that still does not print the word Letten, that walk lands in northern Redania, roughly toward Gelibol, not far from Blaviken. Estimate, not a pin.

Letten is not on the in-game map yet. It is not in Sapkowski’s printed maps as a labelled region you can tap. The de Lettenhove name has always been there; the geography was fog. Gelencsér burned the fog off without dropping a grid reference. That is why people are typing letten witcher map and getting studio names instead of a river.

What Witcher 4 lore does Letten actually change?

Kovir is the sequel’s home. Songs of the Past is sold as a bridge, Geralt after the Wild Hunt, in the homeland of his bard. Put Letten on the Nimnar between Kovir and Kaedwen and the expansion is no longer a southern holiday like Toussaint. It is a northern approach. The next game’s politics sit one kingdom over. That is the lore. It is not a spoiler. It is a map.

Vision director Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz called Letten idyllic, Polish countryside, a dark curse under the pastoral. CDPR’s own blurb: rural tradition, buried secrets. None of that moves the pin. The pin is the Nimnar.

Is Dandelion in Songs of the Past?

The map says homeland. The recording booth has not, yet. At PSX Extreme Party 2026 in Warsaw (5 September), Polish Dandelion voice Jacek Kopczyński told journalist Dawid Muszyński he had already recorded some lines for Witcher 4 — “not much,” in the recap — and that he was still waiting to be invited to record Songs of the Past. GameRant and Wccftech both ran the panel off a Wiedźminlandia write-up. That is an actor’s diary, not a CDPR press release. It does not prove he is out of the expansion. It proves the sequel session happened first.

Fool’s Theory’s Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz has talked a more serious Dandelion in Letten, and Geralt meeting his sister Lilla. That is studio intent. Kopczyński’s calendar is the dated fact. If Songs ships without his session, the bard’s hometown can still be a Geralt story — Blood and Wine already did the cameo version. Role size in Witcher 4 is unknown; “not much” recorded can mean a cameo or an unfinished pass.

The whole thing plays out in Letten, which is the birthplace of Dandelion. It’s in the north, somewhere half-way between Kovir and Kaedwen.

Fool’s Theory is also on the Witcher remake and a slice of Witcher 4. The map sentence is the one that will outlive the presser. Studio first was the wrong hed. The river is the story.

Ciri’s arc in Witcher 4 is also unpublished. The games already made her a witcher who can walk away from destiny; the sequel starts there. Anything about a specific vendetta in Kovir is fanfic until CDPR files it.

Kovir’s “dynamics” in Sapkowski are merchant-prince: gold, ships, a king who lends rather than marches. Witcher 4 chose that board because Ciri is not Geralt — she is a princess who became a witcher standing in a country that bought its peace. That is a reading. It is not a leak.
